A man in his mid-50s was unresponsive after his car struck a pole in the 2700 block of North Hillside on Wednesday, according to a Sedgwick County emergency dispatcher.

The crash was reported shortly after 10:30 p.m.

Wichita police say a medical condition caused the driver to veer off 26th Street and strike a pole.

Police were dispatched to 26th and Hillside and found the man unresponsive inside his vehicle.

The man was taken to the hospital, and he has since stabilized, said Sgt. Joe Springob of the Wichita Police Department.
