Harrison Ford spotted at Wichita’s Sabor Latin Bar & Grille
Harrison Ford was spotted in Wichita on Friday night, at Old Town’s Sabor Latin Bar & Grille.
Ford, the actor and a pilot, has been known to come to Wichita often for flight training.
Melad Stephan, Sabor’s owner, said he knew Ford would be coming Friday night, so he had Ford’s favorite booth prepared for his arrival.
Ford dined at the restaurant with a pilot friend, and ordered the “Plate for Two,” featuring a selection of meats, asparagus and chipotle mashed potatoes, Stephan said. He also had a bottle of wine.
Stephan said even though he hadn’t talked to Ford in five years, he still remembered Stephan’s full name.
“I’m surprised – it’s hard to say my name,” Stephan said.
He said many people in the restaurant started staring when they realized Ford was there.
“A lot of people tried to get him up to take a picture,” Stephan said. “He said, ‘If I’m going to take a picture with people, I’ll be here all night.’”
He was at the restaurant from about 7:20 until about 8:30 p.m., Stephan said.
On social media, people reported other Ford sightings on Wednesday at both SuperTarget and Cabela’s at 21st and Greenwich.
Ford recently reprised his role of Han Solo in the blockbuster “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
