William and Anais Yeager renounced everything to go into the desert, find the meaning of life and make a movie about their experience.
Millions of people watched their seven-minute video on YouTube, inspired by its message to live in the moment. A filmmaker decided to follow them around for three years, recording their lives in a documentary called “The Film That Changed the World.”
The movie is playing at a number of film festivals across the country, according to the Yeagers, as well as at the Murdock Theatre in Wichita on Saturday.
The Yeagers plan to use the proceeds from Saturday’s screening to purchase an instrument for a student at Wichita West High School. Students at West are participating in an essay competition about the meaning of music in their lives. The winner of the contest will receive the instrument.
