Water main break closes Topeka Street in Wichita

Shortly after noon on Monday, the Sedgwick County 911 dispatch office received a phone call about a water main break on Topeka Street near English.

Throughout the afternoon, there were several more calls.

“We have several places on Topeka where water was coming up,” a 911 dispatcher said.

Currently, the street is closed and is expected to remain closed to traffic between English and Waterman while city crews work to repair the water main break.

The street is expected to reopen on Tuesday.
