Sedgwick County: Don’t give 911 a New Year’s Day headache

News flash: the noise coming from your neighbor’s New Year’s Eve party is not an emergency worthy of calling 911.

That’s why Sedgwick County is setting up its non-emergency line later this week. It will be available between 11 p.m. Dec. 31 and 3 a.m. Jan. 1. Residents should call that number to report noise and fireworks complaints.

The non-emergency number is 290-1011.

The county activates the non-emergency line for the Fourth of July, New Year’s Eve and as needed to reduce the number of calls to 911.
