Three kings to visit Extension for cultural Epiphany celebration
The three kings or wise men will make a visit to the Extension Center on Jan. 2 to bring treat bags to children and take photos with them as part of a celebration of the Epiphany.
K-State Research and Extension will have the free family event from 3 to 6 p.m. at the center at 21st and Ridge Road. The celebration marking the visit of the three wise men to the baby Jesus, and their bringing him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh, is an important holiday in many countries, the Extension says, and this event will highlight their traditions.
The celebration will include cultural tables of Hispanic countries, crafts and music. Food will be for sale for $5 a plate.
