Accident on I-135 injures three people
Two adults and a 5-month-old boy were injured Sunday afternoon when the driver of a 2002 Crown Victoria lost control as he was changing lanes on I-135 and left the roadway, striking a Kansas Department of Transportation overhead sign pole.
The accident happened shortly after 3:30 p.m. at Milepost 116, south of the North I-235 junction in Wichita, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol accident report.
The driver was Melvin Zahn, 25, of Hutchinson. Passengers were Joelle B. Smith, 24, and Jerry Smith, 5 months. The Smiths are also from Hutchinson.
