Derby man killed in Friday morning Turnpike crash
A 19-year-old Derby man was killed in a crash Friday morning on the Kansas Turnpike, according to a Turnpike crash report.
Tyler Ray Smith was driving in the northbound lanes about 10 miles north of Cassoday when his 2008 Ford Focus went off the roadway to the right “for an unknown reason,” according to the report.
Smith overcorrected when attempting to return to the roadway, and his car rolled several times. Smith was ejected, according to the report.
The crash was reported shortly before 8:30 a.m. Friday.
