Man stabbed near Harry and Hillside (+video)
A man was stabbed several times late Wednesday morning at an apartment near Harry and Hillside, police said.
He was rushed to Wesley Medical Center and was undergoing surgery, Wichita police Sgt. Jim Pinegar said. Someone called 911 shortly before 11 a.m. to report that a man may have been killed, a Sedgwick County emergency dispatcher said, but when first responders arrived in the 1600 block of South Erie they found that the man was still alive.
Pinegar said police have no suspect description and do not know what led to the altercation. Officers were questioning others who lived in the apartments near where the stabbing occurred.
The victim is about 20 years old, the dispatcher said.
“We hope to have more information by tonight,” Pinegar said.
