Police search for pickup used in burglary
Wichita police are investigating a burglary that happened Sunday morning at an apartment complex near Harry and Webb.
Police were called to the 1500 block of South Webb Road shortly before 7:30 a.m. When they arrived, a 25-year-old man told police that he saw a man in his 40s attempting to break into his vehicle. When he confronted the suspect, the suspect ran to a 1990s black Dodge truck and attempted to drive off, according to Sgt. Bob Gulliver, spokesman with the Wichita Police Department.
The 25-year-old man hung onto the pickup and was dragged as it circled the parking lot several times. Eventually, the pickup struck a planter where both the suspect and victim were thrown from the pickup, Gulliver said. The suspect was able to return to the pickup and flee.
The 25-year-old man sustained minor injuries as well as loss of cash and some tools.
