Wichita police: Child hospitalized with seizures, bruising
Authorities are looking into what caused a 2-year-old girl’s seizures and bruising and led to her being hospitalized on Monday.
A social worker was asked to check on the girl’s welfare at about 11 a.m. Monday at Silver Springs Apartments near Central and Ridge Road, Wichita police Lt. James Espinoza said. The child was taken to Via Christi Hospital-St. Francis for evaluation.
The Exploited and Missing Child Unit is investigating the case, Espinoza said. The child is in stable condition.
No arrests have been made in the case, Espinoza said. Doctors are still determining whether the toddler’s injuries are the result of child abuse.
