The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in identifying a vehicle spotted at the scene of a fatal traffic collision Sunday afternoon on Rock Road.

The collision at about 2 p.m. Sunday in the 4500 block of South Rock Road killed 23-month-old Tessa Wilson, authorities have said. Her mother, 28-year-old Caitlin Wilson, remained in critical condition early Tuesday morning at Wesley Medical Center.

Investigators think that a white, older model midsize car with a beveled or curved rear end, was northbound on Rock Road from 47th Street South just prior to the collision, and may have had some involvement in the incident.

Wilson was driving south on Rock Road when her car swerved into the northbound lanes of Rock Road and collided with a truck driven by 58-year-old Paul Rinehart of Derby. Rinehart was released from Via Christi Hospital-St. Francis on Monday.

Anyone with information about the older midsize car or who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken to deputies is being asked to call 911 or the sheriff’s office at 316-660-3888.
