Kansas Aviation Museum to host plane’s dedication ceremony
The Kansas Aviation Museum will host a dedication ceremony from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the museum, 3350 George Washington Blvd.
The dedication is for the museum’s Stearman Model 4D, a red and white Texaco biplane built in Wichita in 1931.
According to the museum’s website, Lloyd Stearman said it was the best airplane he’d ever designed.
Of the 40 Model 4’s built in Wichita, only 14 are still accounted for.
The ceremony, which is free and open to the public, will honor the volunteers and donors who made the restoration possible.
