Kansas State Fair names new general manager
Susan Sankey has been named general manager of the Kansas State Fair, according to a news release Friday.
Sankey, who served as director of Competitive Exhibits at the fair the past two years, replaced Denny Stoecklein, who resigned earlier this year.
As general manager, Sankey will lead all activities related to the State Fair and non-fair events held on the 280-acre fairgrounds in Hutchinson. The Kansas State Fair Board met Friday afternoon to confirm her hiring.
The fair set an attendance record last September, attracting 369,322 people. The 2016 fair is set for Sept. 9-18.
