When the mother of this family of four was laid off more than a year ago, they were still able to pay the bills because the father was getting plenty of overtime.
But then that stopped and the bills began to pile up.
Share the Season was able to step in and make a mortgage payment on their house.

“The mortgage was what was keeping me up at night,” the 38-year-old mother said. “That was our biggest concern.”
She and her husband, 41, have two sons, 11 and 7.
The husband wrote in his application to Share the Season that he had planned to get a part-time job to help supplement his income. But he hurt his leg in November and was unable to take on a second job.
His wife has been unable to find a new job.
“We are trying not to lose our house,” he wrote. “I am praying it doesn’t have to go that far. We just want to keep a roof over our kids’ heads.”
