Police identify man killed in crash near 37th and Oliver
Police on Monday released the name of the man killed in a one-vehicle crash in northeast Wichita early Sunday morning.
Ryan Hamilton, 22, was declared dead at the scene of the crash at about 4 a.m. Sunday in the 4100 block of East 37th Street North, Lt. James Espinoza said. Hamilton was driving a Mitsubishi Montero when he lost control and struck a tree about halfway between Oliver and Hillside.
“At this time, we believe speed was a contributing factor,” Espinoza said.
The accident was reported by Koch Industries security, he said.
Investigators are awaiting the results of blood tests to see if alcohol was also a factor in the crash, Espinoza said.
