Vintage Holiday Toy Festival in Wichita recreates Christmas scene from 100 years ago
The Vintage Holiday Toy Festival is on display at the Wichita/Sedgwick County Historical Museum through Dec. 13.
The exhibit recreates a century-old Christmas scene and includes handmade toys created by members of the Sunflower Woodworkers Guild.
The exhibit features a full-size playhouse built off-site but reassembled in the museum. Other items include a log cabin doll house, rocking horse, a large-scale puzzle map of the United States, a wooden model train set, a doll cradle, toboggan, sailing ship and other toys.
A live auction of some of the toys is scheduled at 3 p.m. Dec. 13.
The Wichita/Sedgwick County Museum is located at 204 S. Main. Hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 1 to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
