Share the Season: Mom needs help with bills after husband walks out
Share the Season is an annual campaign that offers one-time aid to people affected by unforeseen hardships. The people are not identified to protect their privacy.
This mother of two is trying to cope after her husband walked out on the family early in November.
The family, which includes 17- and 2-year-old girls, had recently moved into a new home.
“I was in complete shock,” the woman told The Eagle. “Six months ago, he had an injury at work and we went through hard times financially. I was able to work and get us through ... And now, he decided this wasn’t for him.”
She found out about Share the Season from a friend. She applied and qualified for help.
“It is huge. I can’t begin to describe what (Share the Season) has done for me – financially, emotionally,” the mother said. “I am incredibly grateful and amazed that there are people willing to help like this. When you have had bad people do something to you and then somebody around the corner does something amazing ... I am grateful.”
Share the Season was able to help her with utilities.
“I was stressed about Christmas and how I would pull it off,” she said. “I don’t want my daughters to lose the home they just fell in love with. Their lives are changing so much as it is.”
So far, Share the Season has raised more than $61,720.
