Share the Season: Worries pile up after father breaks hip in wreck
Share the Season is an annual campaign that offers one-time aid to people affected by unforeseen hardships. The people are not identified to protect their privacy.
The 36-year-old father was in a car wreck last month that shattered his hip and dislocated it.
He and his wife have three children. She stays at home to care for them.
Doctors have told him it may be March before he can go back to work.
“I will be getting some income through workman’s comp but they take their time and we were worried on making sure the rent was paid on time,” the father said. “We wanted to make sure we could stay in our home and keep the kids fed.”
The couple sought help from Share the Season.
“They helped with the utilities and a few doctor bills, which took a lot of worry off our minds,” he said. “They made sure we will have a great Thanksgiving and the kids will have Christmas.”
So far, Share the Season has raised more than $61,000.
