Coroner: Wichita State student found dead committed suicide
A Wichita State University student found dead in her room Monday night in Shocker Hall committed suicide, WSU officials said Tuesday, citing a preliminary report from the county coroner.
The student was an 18-year-old woman, WSU officials said.
“We offer our deepest condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of a Shocker Hall resident who passed away yesterday,” Eric Sexton, vice president for Student Affairs, said in a statement Tuesday.
Staffers with WSU’s Counseling and Testing Center were at Shocker Hall on Tuesday and will return Wednesday to offer emotional support to residents.
