Wichita man killed in Pratt County crash

A 38-year-old Wichita man died in a three-vehicle crash in a construction zone in Pratt County on Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

Traffic was stopped by a highway flagman about seven miles east of Pratt when Sean Shores, driving a Nissan Altima, slammed into the back of a waiting Ford F-250 at 1:30 p.m., according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. The impact knocked the F-250 into the back of a Ford Edge with two residents of Illinois inside.

Shores was killed in the collision, while the 21-year-old Wichita man driving the F-250 was taken to a hospital. The 70-year-old driver of the Ford Edge was taken to Pratt Regional Medical Center for treatment, according to the highway patrol’s report.
