Sedgwick County sheriff’s deputies were at Andale Middle School on Tuesday as authorities investigated a threat made at the school the day before.
Someone wrote the threat on a bathroom wall, said Tracy Bourne, superintendent of the Renwick school district.
“It was a general threat,” said Bourne, who would not offer more specific details.
A letter was sent home to parents of Andale Middle School students, Bourne said.
“We don’t want to create any panic,” he said.
The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office sent additional deputies to Andale Middle School “to ensure the safety of the students and staff,” Lt. Lin Dehning said in announcing the school threat.
Bourne said the deputies were on hand “early in the morning” and they’ll be there throughout the day.
