Jessica St. Clair-Stong’s volunteer efforts began in Valley Center with her dad and recycling.

“My dad started the city’s recycling program,” the 35-year-old said. “He did it before recycling was a thing. We volunteered with him, and through that I studied the impact of volunteerism. It really matters to me.”

St. Clair-Stong currently volunteers as a board member for Laughing Feet Performers, an organization for children with special needs. She serves on the Wichita Arts Council and the city of Wichita Cultural Funding Committee. She is the leadership series coordinator for the Junior League of Wichita and a supporter of the Tallgrass Film Festival. She serves on the United Way allocations committee and volunteers with her son to help staff the Wichita/Sedgwick County Historical Society Museum.

She also operates the Bloom Wellness yoga studios in downtown Wichita and College Hill. She studied abroad and learned yoga in Prague. She also taught in France and London. She is married to Chris Stong, director of operations for NuWay.

“I have always been interested in many things,” St. Clair-Stong said. “These issues speak to me. I care about this community and the children. These are organizations that matter. I want to do everything I can to support them.”
