Homeless shelters open in downtown Wichita for winter

Inter-Faith Ministries’ annual Warming Souls Winter Shelter for homeless people is open now through March 31.

The men’s shelter is in the Inter-Faith Spiritual Center, 841 N. Market. The women’s shelter is housed in Ti’Wiconi Safe Haven, 841 N. Broadway.

Guests must register nightly at Inter-Faith Inn, 320 E. Central, before going to the shelters. Check-in starts at 6 p.m.

The shelters are open from 6 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Guests will receive at least two meals daily, warm clothing and snacks.

Medical care, including influenza vaccinations and tuberculosis skin tests, will be offered on-site on Mondays, and legal clinics will be held in both November and March, said Anne Corriston, executive director of Inter-Faith Ministries.

Case management services will also be available.
