Police: Two men with baseball bats attack another man in south Wichita
Wichita police said a 33-year-old man who was beaten with baseball bats Monday morning was admitted to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis with critical injuries.
Police Sgt. Bob Gulliver said the man told police he was walking at about 3:25 a.m. Monday in the 800 block of West 33rd Street South when he was approached by two men carrying baseball bats, who began to hit him about the head. The man reported the attack happened near Seneca and about a block west of South High School.
Gulliver said the victim was taken by a friend to Via Christi Hospital St. Joseph. The man was later transported to St. Francis, Gulliver said.
Gulliver said the man was unable to provide officers a description of his attackers.
The man was in serious condition as of Monday evening, a hospital supervisor said.
