These busy highway ramps will be closed Saturday. Here’s where

Some busy north Wichita ramps will be closed Saturday, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.

The westbound K-96 to southbound I-135 ramp and then southbound I-135/235 ramp to eastbound K-96 ramp will be closed beginning at 4 a.m. Saturday.

Drivers going from southbound I-135/235 to eastbound K-96 should use the Hydraulic Avenue exit, continue north, then use the eastbound K-96 ramp as a detour.

The highway near those closures will also be reduced to one lane.

The ramps will reopen late Saturday evening, according to KDOT.

The closures are part of the North Junction Gold Project. The project began in phases in 2023. The current phase, which includes new ramps for westbound K-96 to I-135, is expected to be completed in 2028.
