No injuries were reported after a large brush fire at the former Joyland Amusement Park early Wednesday morning saw fire crews working overnight to extinguish the blaze.

It was reported just after 12:30 a.m. at the south end of the abandoned amusement park property in south Wichita, the Wichita Fire Department wrote in a Facebook post later that morning.

“Crews worked to knock down the main body of fire as well as many spot fires that had spread throughout the park,” the post read.

Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire overnight, and no firefighters or civilians were reportedly injured.

Because of the condition of the property, the fire department’s post read, the cause of the fire will not be investigated and will remain undetermined.
