You may have noticed your Google search results can be cluttered by inaccurate, artificial intelligence-generated summaries and advertisements. If you’d rather have something like the classic Google experience — where trustworthy results relevant to you file to the top — the tech company recently launched a feature called “Preferred Sources.”

You can get trusted, soundly reported local news on Sedgwick County, Wichita and neighboring suburbs by making The Wichita Eagle one of your preferred sources, or websites selected by you that Google prioritizes in the “top stories” tab of search results.

To add The Eagle as a preferred source, use this link and select the box to the right of kansas.com.

The tool is only available to those with a Google account, and you may be asked to log in if you aren’t already. Google said in a blog post the feature is available in English.
