Pedestrian struck and killed on US 77 in Cowley County; investigation ongoing
One person is dead after a car going north on US 77 in Cowley County struck a pedestrian who was walking in the roadway.
The victim was identified as 32-year-old Kasey Joe Barclay of Ponca City.
The collision happened near 242nd Road just before 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, according to a press release from the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office. A silver Nissan Rogue going northbound on US 77 hit Barclay, who deputies said was walking in the roadway.
Barclay was pronounced dead at the scene. The Nissan driver, a Wichita woman, stayed at the crash site and is cooperating with investigators, the release read.
The crash remains under investigation, the department said.
