Sedgwick County’s Douglas Tag Office has new hours
Sedgwick County’s Douglas Tag Office will open an hour earlier starting this week.
The office, at 2525 W. Douglas, is now open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“This gives residents extra time in their day to do their tag and title work,” a Sedgwick County Government Facebook post said.
The change comes after the county has made numerous changes to its tag office locations.
That includes closing the Kellogg Tag Office and adding several satellite locations across the county.
The county began to make these changes as it contended with longer lines at its tag office locations.
County Treasurer Brandi Baily previously said the consolidation of the two main tag offices was necessary as it pressures the state of Kansas to make several changes for the state-mandated offices, including higher fees to cover the county’s cost to operate them.
Since the consolidation, the treasurer’s office added several satellite locations, which offer the same services as its main tag office on an appointment-only basis.
Those satellite locations are located at:
- Kansas Drivers Licensing Derby, 620 N. Rock Road, Suite 300, Derby, KS 67037
- Wichita West Kansas Driver Licensing, 610 S. Tyler Road, Wichita, KS 67209
- Park City City Hall, 1941 E. 61st Street North, Park City, KS 67219
- Haysville Municipal Building, 200 West Grand Avenue Haysville, KS 67060
- Mel Hambelton Ford 11771 W Kellogg Drive Wichita, KS 67209
- Rusty Eck Ford 7310 East Kellogg Drive Wichita, KS 67207
- Ruffin Building 100 N Broadway Street, Suite 100 Wichita, KS 67202
