Speed and alcohol are suspected factors in a crash Friday night that killed two Wichita men and seriously injured a third, Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Branden Stitt said.

The wreck was reported at 11:11 p.m. in the 5100 block of South West Street, which is just outside of the Wichita city limits. First responders found a Chevrolet SS that left the road and rolled multiple times, Stitt said in a news release.

Joseph Perry Davidson, 46, of Wichita, was the driver; he was ejected from the car and died at the scene, Stitt said.

Joshua Blick, 48, of Wichita, was a passenger; he was ejected from the car and taken in critical condition to the hospital, where he later died, Stitt said.

A 44-year-old Wichita man, who was also a passenger, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, Stitt said.

“Based on the preliminary investigation, the vehicle was traveling north on West Street when it failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway and rolled multiple times,” Stitt said. “Investigators believe speed and alcohol were contributing factors.”
