The Christmas holiday is over, and it won’t be too long before your live Christmas tree will need to retire.

If you’re in Wichita or the surrounding area and looking to take down your natural tree, we’ve put together a quick guide on where you can recycle it this year.

Sedgwick County shared on its Facebook page a list of 21 locations you can drop off your tree now through Friday, Jan. 23. In addition, when you drop off your tree, you can also pick up free mulch.

“Recycling your Christmas tree reduces landfill waste and supports the ecosystem. Let’s all go green this holiday season,” Sedgwick County’s Dec. 22 social media post reads.

All trees must be free of decorations, and the sites do not accept artificial Christmas trees.
