Joe Walsh pops in to the Dole VA to say thanks to Wichita veterans

Joe Walsh, a five-time Grammy winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, made a stop by the Robert J. Dole VA Center on Tuesday to spend time with patients at the facility. This weekend he’s bringing his VetsAid concert to Intrust Bank Arena. The concerts are held to raise money for local and regional veteran organizations.

Walsh was born in Wichita in 1947 and has deep family root in the area. His father, an Army Air Force pilot, was killed in a mid-air collision while flying an F-80 over Okinawa in 1949. Walsh went on to international fame in music, first as a member of the James Gang and later with The Eagles.

The concert is Saturday at 6 p.m. at Intrust Bank Arena and features of star-studded lineup including Ryan Bingham and Vince Gill.
