Halloween weekend roadwork will see highway ramp closures. Here’s when and where.
Halloween weekend is about to get a little more frightful for highway commuters, with orange cones and lane closures scheduled for before and after Friday’s holiday.
On Oct. 30, two one-day closures will affect I-135 in north Wichita from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The southbound I-135 exit ramp to northbound I-235 will be closed for general roadway, guardrail and pothole repairs. Overhead lights along the ramp also will be replaced.
And the right lane of northbound I-135, from the north I-135/I-235 junction to north of 47th Street, will be closed for repairs and overhead light replacement.
Also on Oct. 30, the northbound I-235 exit ramp to MacArthur in south Wichita will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for road repair, guardrail repair and LED light replacement.
Starting on Nov. 1 and concluding Nov. 2, northbound I-135 from K-96 to Hillside Avenue — and several connecting ramps, including the southbound I-135 ramp to eastbound K-96 and the westbound K-96 exit ramp to North Hydraulic Avenue — will be fully closed. The closures will begin at 6 a.m. Nov. 1 and finish sometime in the late afternoon on Nov. 2.
