Dancing deputy impresses and wins Dad Bod contest in downtown Wichita
Editor’s note: Welcome to an occasional mini-documentary series called ICT in 70. The Eagle’s visuals editor Jaime Green is highlighting “fun, quirky things happening in our area” through 70-second videos.
This week, we meet:
Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Deputy Garry Tate, a last-minute entry in a Dad Bod contest in downtown Wichita.
He was working an off-duty security job at Bloktoberfest in Naftzger Park on Saturday when his boss ordered him to take the stage for the contest.
His dancing skills apparently impressed the judges as well as the cheering crowd.
Tate says he spends a lot of time dancing with his wife and four kids in their living room.
