Here are the highway closures coming on I-135 south and west K-96 in Wichita
A section of I-135 south and K-96 ramp connecting to I-135 south will be closed for construction from 6 a.m. Saturday to Sunday afternoon, the Kansas Department of Transportation said.
“These closures are necessary to remove formwork and overhang brackets from the newly poured flyover bridge structure,” KDOT said in a news release.
The detour for commuters on I-135 south will take them to K-96 east, then to Hillside, and onto 21st to reconnect with I-135 south.
Additionally, the K-96 west ramp to I-135 south and the westbound ramp to Hydraulic will both be closed. The Hydraulic ramp to I-135 south will be closed as well.
