Wichita police have announced an arrest and released the names of the two women who were killed in an east Wichita car crash Saturday evening.

Shortly before 9:30 p.m., a black Chevy truck driving east on Central collided with a white BMW and a gray Jeep southbound on Webb.

In the BMW were 42-year-old Lashea Bell and 25-year-old A’Niah Bell, both of Wichita. Lashea Bell was pronounced dead at the scene. A’Niah Bell was taken to a local hospital, where she later died.

The driver of the Jeep was treated at the crash scene and released.

The 80-year-old driver of the Chevy truck was also taken to a hospital. Once she was medically cleared, she was arrested on suspicion of two counts of second-degree homicide.

Police think speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash.
