A magnitude-4.0 earthquake roughly four miles northwest of Medford, Okla., was felt in the Wichita area Friday afternoon.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake occurred just before 4:30 p.m.

About 45 minutes later, another smaller earthquake was reported about five miles to the east, in Oklahoma. That earthquake was magnitude-2.9.

The second quake was not felt at the Eagle building downtown.
