Wichita police to be featured on YouTube’s US Cops series
A YouTube channel with roughly 178,000 subscribers and over 34 million views will feature officers from the Wichita Police Department on duty.
US Cops is entering its fourth season and added the Wichita department its roster. The channel was created in 2019 and shares the stories of first responders and law enforcement agencies while on the job.
“Our mission is to present a balanced and genuine perspective, giving viewers an inside look at the diverse and demanding world of first responders,” according to the channel’s mission page.
The channel approached the Wichita Police Department about the collaboration. Filming in Wichita began at the start of June and concluded on June 28, police spokesperson Andrew Ford said.
The season 4 trailer starts out with an aerial view of downtown Wichita, shots of Riverfest and officers responding to various emergency calls throughout the city. The season is expected to premiere in October 2025.
“Being featured on the US Cops YouTube series First Responders is a great opportunity for WPD to highlight the important work our officers do every day,” Ford said. “This series does not focus on the fast-paced, high-intensity moments often shown in other police shows.”
“Instead, it captures the everyday, meaningful interactions between our officers and the community, responding to routine calls and building connections in a balanced and realistic way.”
The department has been featured various times before on the long-running reality TV show, COPS.
Other departments featured on the US COPS First Responders series are the Oxford Police Department in Oxford, Alabama and the Nye County Sheriff’s Office in Nye County, Nevada.
