Man dies after suffering medical emergency while driving in south Wichita

A 53-year-old man died Monday after suffering a medical emergency while driving in south Wichita.

Michael Jelley died at the hospital, Wichita police spokesperson Rick Pena said Tuesday.

Police were called at 6:24 p.m. to an accident in the 1100 block of East MacArthur. The Chevy Malibu Jelley was driving had struck the curb multiple times.

Jelley had suffered a medical emergency while driving. EMS took him to a hospital, where he died, Pena said.

No other vehicles were involved, and there were two other occupants inside with Jelley who were not injured.
