Part of I-135 south in Wichita will close for construction this weekend. Here is what to know
Construction will close part of I-135 south in Wichita from Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.
Starting at 5 a.m. Saturday, southbound I-135 from K-254 to just past K-96 will close for paving and patching. The ramps from westbound K-96 and K-254 to southbound I-135, along with the exit loop ramp to North Broadway from southbound I-235, also will be closed.
The work should be completed by Sunday afternoon.
KDOT had also anticipated doing work on the northbound lanes in that area but, because of the possible rain, will instead do that work next weekend. Southbound I-135 in that area is also expected to have closures next weekend, KDOT said.
