Akansas City man arrested after allegedly threatening restaurant workers with bat
Arkansas City police have taken a 45-year-old man into custody following an incident Saturday night in which he allegedly threatened people with a softball bat.
The incident happened at 8:15 p.m. Saturday at Daisy Mae’s Cafe in the 500 block of West Madison in Arkansas City.
The man threatened the restaurant’s employees with a softball bat after “receiving information they were upset about a call-in order,” according to a press release issued by the Arkansas City Police Department.
The 45-year-old man took a swing at the workers but missed. One employee said he was punched in the head by the 45-year-old man after he tripped and fell in attempting to get away from the man.
Neither employee reported injuries as a result of the incident.
The man was arrested on suspicion of two counts of aggravated assault and battery and is being held on a $20,750 bond.
