A 64-year-old man died Saturday after being thrown off his motorcycle along Interstate 235 in Wichita.

The man was identified as Jeffrey Ratcliffe of Wichita, the Kansas Highway Patrol said.

The crash was reported at 3:06 p.m. along northbound I-235 at mile marker 8, just north of west Kellogg. Ratcliffe was riding on I-235 when he failed to negotiate a curve, crossed through the center median entering the southbound lanes and overcorrected, which led to him being thrown off his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, a KHP crash log shows.

He was taken to Ascension Via Christi St. Francis where he died from his injuries, the KHP said.
