A 17-year-old Wichita boy was seriously injured Tuesday morning after going the wrong way on I-135 and hitting two vehicles, a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper said.

He is suspected of driving under the influence, according to Trooper Chad Crittenden.

The teen was taken to a Wichita hospital with suspected serious injuries after the crash around 12:30 a.m. He was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes, driving a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu, in Park City when he hit two southbound vehicles: a 2025 Kenworth semi pulling a trailer and driven by a 46-year-old Minnesota man and a 2019 Ford Expedition driven by a 45-year-old Derby woman, a KHP trooper wrote in a crash report.

A 60-year-old Derby man was also in the SUV. The other drivers and passenger were not injured, the trooper said.
