Parts of northbound and southbound I-135 in north Wichita will be closed for construction this weekend.

Southbound I-135 will be closed at the K-254 interchange to just past the K-96 interchange from 5 a.m. Saturday until around midday Sunday, Kansas Department of Transportation spokesperson J.B. Wilson said in a news release.

“The I-235 ramps to southbound I-135, including the newly constructed I-235 connector ramp to K-96, and the ramp from westbound K-96 to southbound I-135 will also be closed,” he said.

Northbound I-135 will also be closed at 5 a.m. Saturday.

“Northbound I-135 will be closed at the K-96/I-135 interchange. Traffic will be diverted to eastbound K-96, where drivers will exit at Hillside Street and use westbound K-96 to return to northbound I-135.”

Northbound I-135 is expected to reopen by Sunday afternoon.
