A flurry of crashes in the eastbound lanes of Kellogg between 3:45 and 4:45 p.m. have the highway closed at Hillside as officers work to clear six separate crashes.

A Sedgwick County emergency dispatcher said only one of the six crashes resulted in serious injuries, and that crash was the first reported, at Kellogg and Armour. As of 4:45 p.m., all of the other crashes were non-injury, the dispatcher said.

After that, the dispatcher said another crash was reported at Kellogg and Oliver, then at Kellogg and Woodlawn, then at Kellogg and Rock, then another at Kellogg and Rock, and then one at Kellogg and Hillside.

“That’s a lot of accidents,” the dispatcher said.

According to the Kansas Department of Transportation’s online incident tracker WichWay, another crash was reported at Kellogg and Woodlawn in the westbound lanes, closing the left lane of the highway.

Drivers should avoid using eastbound Kellogg during the evening commute Friday if at all possible.
