A 21-year-old Wichita driver and her passenger were taken to the hospital after she rear-ended a city street sweeper Thursday morning in south Wichita, police spokesperson Kristopher Gupilan said.

The passenger was a 21-year-old man from Valley Center.

The 48-year-old Wichita man driving the street sweeper west on 31st Street South, near Davidson, was not injured, he said. The Eagle previously reported the driver was injured because of initial reports from an official.

The accident was reported at 8:53 a.m.

“Investigators are conducting a thorough investigation of this incident before any charges are filed,” Gupilan said in an email.
