A man died after a house fire broke out early Sunday morning in the area of Woodlawn and Harry in southeast Wichita.

One man died in a house fire early Sunday in southeast Wichita.

The man’s name has not been released.

Wichita Fire Department crews were called at 3:30 a.m. to the 1100 block of Inverness Drive, near Woodlawn and Harry, for a report of a house fire, the WFD said.

Firefighters arrived and saw the house engulfed in flames, with the roof partially collapsing. The fire was put out and crews entered the home.

A man was found deceased in a room in the back of the house, according to a WFD social media post.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
