Woman in ‘extremely critical condition’ after pit bull attacks her in west Wichita, police say
EMS took a 40-year-old Wichita woman to the hospital in “extremely critical condition” Saturday after she was bitten by her pit bull at her home in west Wichita, police spokesperson Andrew Ford said.
Police were called at 4:08 p.m. to the 2900 block of West Murdock after the “caller reported that someone was attacked by their dog,” Ford said. The dog was taken to the Wichita Animal Shelter, he said.
According to Sedgwick County Emergency Communications scanner traffic, the woman was unresponsive at some point.
“Be advised that the pit bull is still loose in the house,” a 911 dispatcher said shortly after police were called. “I don’t know if they were able to get the patient out yet.”
