Wichita Public Schools has canceled classes for the third time this week.

There will be no classes on Thursday, Feb. 20, because of “dangerous windchills during the time when students will be walking to school or waiting for the bus,” USD 259 spokesperson Susan Arensman said Wednesday.

The announcement comes after classes were canceled Tuesday and Wednesday because of snow and extreme cold. There was no school Monday because it was President’s Day.

“All WPS staff will report to work and Thursday will be a professional learning day,” a district email said. “All high school evening athletic events will go on as scheduled.”

Other school districts

These Wichita metro-area school districts also have canceled classes Thursday.
